  8. For her first national appearance since quitting tournament
  9. tennis, Chris Evert, 34, is this week's host of Saturday Night
  10. Live. She found the offer irresistible: "I'd kick myself if I'd
  11. said no. With tennis I've lived such a rigid life and not taken
  12. chances." Cool on court, she'll stay loose on the show, where
  13. nothing's set until the last minute. Says she: "I don't know
  14. what we'll do. Maybe make fun of early retirement."
